The origins of the NAACP

We have just looked at speeches by Booker T Washington and W.E.B. Dubois, political rivals who differed on issues of gaining equality. The NAACP was aligned with Dubois' strategy and in turn Dubois supported the NAACP. Washington criticized the NAACP and wished its demise.
